Since Mommysite is primarily designed for parents of younger kids, and since Poptropica is for children 6 and up, we felt it was appropriate to let parents know what their children were seeing. It is dangerous ground to have our students engage in learning and not expect some level of mastery. It promotes a lazy attitude in our teachers as well. If they are allowed to simply introduce skills and not have students master them - they lose a level of evaluation as well.Math should be taught as the sensible subject. I do understand how introducing higher levels of math ot early ages helps students fit mathematical concepts through out but they still need to be tested on the level of mastery for their age and development.
